Basic App Use:
Most features of DreamDirector.AI are available without registration or providing personal information.

Account Creation & Personalized Features:
To access personalized real-time REM sleep detection, you’ll need to create a user account. When you do, we collect:

• Your email address (if provided)
• Sleep and dream data generated by your use of the app

Device Identifiers & Purchase Receipts:
If you purchase a subscription, we collect device identifiers and purchase receipts. This helps us verify your subscription and analyze app usage. We do not collect any other device information.

Health Data (Apple HealthKit):

If you grant permission, we will access health data from Apple HealthKit (such as heart rate and activity data) during your sleep sessions. This data is used to improve the accuracy of REM sleep detection and is saved to your HealthKit store. Some session analytics (like session duration, health readings, and sleep evaluations) may be stored locally on your device for feature development.

How Your Data is Stored and Protected

• Local Storage: Data stored on your device through DreamDirector.AI is not encrypted. If you use device backup services (like iCloud), please review your device’s privacy settings.
• Cloud Storage: If you opt in to diagnostic data collection, your data may be securely stored on our servers using industry-standard encryption both in transit and at rest.
• Security: We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data. Access to your data is limited to authorized personnel only.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve DreamDirector features, including personalized REM sleep detection.
• To analyze usage and improve app performance.
• To verify subscription status.
• To develop new features and conduct research (only if you opt in).

We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Your Choices and Rights

• Opt-In: You only provide personally identifying information if you opt in by entering your email address.
• Access & Deletion: You may request access to or deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at support@dreamdirector.ai.
• Withdraw Consent: You can withdraw from diagnostic or research data collection at any time in the app’s Settings.
• Research Participation: Participation in research studies is always optional and requires your explicit consent within the app (Settings → Legal → Research).

Data Retention

• Device identifiers and purchase receipts are stored as long as your account is active, or as required for business and legal purposes.
• Health data and session metrics collected for diagnostics or research are retained until you request deletion or withdraw consent.

Children’s Privacy

DreamDirector.AI is not intended for children under 14. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us to have it removed.

Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services (such as cloud storage or analytics providers) to help operate and improve the app. We do use Amazon Web Services (AWS) for data storage and model development. We are requesting access to Apple Health Kit information so that we can build personalized models of your sleep rhythm using the Apple Health Kit hypnogram data.  AWS, Apple, and other 3rd party providers we may use in the future are and will be required to protect your information and may not use it for any other purpose.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as our app evolves. We will notify you through the app or by email if we make significant changes. The latest version will always be available in the app and on our website.
